D. Ray Cook, MD, LLD, FAAFP was born in Alabama.  His undergraduate study was at Harvard University and graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Ok.  He graduated from University of Kentucky School of Medicine in 1971.   Dr. Cook served a three year residency in Family Practice at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Ks., and has been in private practice since 1974.  He has extensive training and experience in women’s and children's health.   He has been on the teaching staff for the University of Kansas School of Medicine instructing medical students and residents since 1976. 

For many years he has served as team physician for Wichita State University and local high schools.  Since 1981 he has appeared regularly on television and radio talk shows.  Overseas mission experiences have been multiple trips to Papua,  New Guinea and Haiti.  His personal interests include instrumental music on the trombone and vocal music.  He has taught bible study classes for more than 35 years.
