Steve Asbury returns to Galichia Medical Group from a mission trip to Honduras where he provided needed health care to many people in the central highlands who do not have health care providers. Steve started his career in the medical field in 1968 as an EMT in Columbia, South Carolina. From there he went to Durham, North Carolina where he became the Director of Emergency Medical Services, and then to Mt. Airy, NC where he was also Director of EMS. Steve moved to Wichita where he worked as the Director of EMS of Wichita, and Sedgwick County. He attended the Physician Assistant’s program at Wichita State University and graduated in 1985. He practiced primary care in predominantly rural areas and was responsible for starting five rural health clinics. Steve came to GMED in May of 1997 and worked as Director of Clinical Services before his mission trip and returns to our medical staff.
