Benjamin M. Matassarin, MD

Dr. Matassarin received his undergraduate degree from the University of
Kansas and his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. The
Pennsylvania native interned at St. Francis Regional Medical Center. He served residencies
at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita and at the University of Kansas Medical
Center. "Dr. Ben" is board eligible in internal medicine and is on the staffs of
St. Francis Regional Medical Center and Columbia-HCA Wesley Medical Center. He is former
president of staff at St. Francis. Dr. Matassarin is an associate professor at the
University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita faculty and has held faculty positions at
the University of Kansas and Kansas State University. He has practiced internal medicine
for over fifty years and considers diabetes and liver disease (Published the first test
for liver cell damage in 1952) his areas of special interest.
Dr. Matassarin uses his considerable clinical and managerial experience in
administrative endeavors and acts as physician team leader in our group. He has had
several articles published in various medical journals.
