Dr. Mendiola
graduated from medical school in the Philippines, and since has accumulated over 40 years
of experience as a physician. He completed his surgical residency at Chicagos
Central Community Hospital, and his geriatric residency at Oak Forrest Hospital, Illinois.
Dr. Mendiola practiced as an infirmary physician at the Kansas State Industrial
Reformatory in Hutchinson, and following that returned to Chicago where he was an
emergency department physician at South Shore Hospital and Holy Cross Hospital. He later
returned to Kansas and worked at St. Mary Hospital and Newman Hospital in Emporia. He then
went to the Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. Returned to Active duty in the
United States Army as LTC. He was Director of Emergency at Mount Carmel Medical Center in
Pittsburg and was an emergency department physician at the Central Kansas Medical Center
in Great Bend. Dr. Mendiola worked on active duty during Desert Storm at Fort Sill and
Fort Polk, during which he won the "Army Commendation Medal" in 1991. Returned
to the emergency room at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend until 1995. Stationed
active duty in Mahnheim, German May 1996 - July 1996. His current certifications and
memberships include ATLS, ACLS Affiliate Faculty, 4223 USAR Hospital, and he is a UERMMMC
Alumni member. Dr. Mendiola has received countless Army certifications in the medical
field from 1987 to the present. He is also an active member of the Lions Club in Fredonia
and a member of the Masons, Benedict, Ks.
